What is the role of the Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management (BCCM)?
The BCCM is an independent government body that provides information and education to the strata industry in Queensland as well as providing dispute resolution services.
The office’s adjudicators provide binding orders on issues affecting strata schemes, such as bylaw enforcement and committee decisions.
Adjudicator’s orders can be appealed on a question of law only to the Queensland Civil Administration Tribunal (QCAT). The Commissioner’s Office handles more than 15,000 information requests and thousands of disputes each year.
